The dreary London weather cleared way just in time for our second ALANGOO Trunk Show in London earlier this month. The city’s pioneering fashion designers and the fact that ALANGOO Privates’s first collection, Azadeh Taj for ALANGOO, was being presented during the London Fashion Weekend, made London the perfect location for the collection’s first overseas debut among the Persian and non-Persian Londoners. The trunk show also showcased specially selected jewelry from emerging jewelry artists Mohsen Amini, Moein Shashaei, Nazila Barkhordari, Farish Alborzkouh and Ghazaleh Shalchi.
Days of shopping lead into evenings of cocktails and fashion at the 1st Floor Private Rooms on Notting Hill’s famous Portobello Road on both October 1 & 2. Mohsen Amini‘s delicate Persian calligraphy necklaces juxtaposed next to Zangaar’s industrial wearable art drew all of the browsers in. Nazila’s Persian Calligraphy rings sold like hot cakes within the first day, while Farish’s vintage Iranian stamp earrings caught everyones eye from across the room. Azadeh Taj for ALANGOO was modelled by our founder Golshid Mola and friends, as well as by the London based jewelry artist Ghazaleh Shalchi who was there her whimsical lace jewelry.
The show was a phenomenal success in bringing ALANGOO closer to our mission of providing a platform for independent and underground artisans and designers to showcase and sell their wearable art on a global scale.
ALANGOO Private aims to raise the bar in the Iranian fashion industry by offering trendy designs that not only have a touch of Persian culture, but also meet industry standards in design, production and online retail through collaboration with adept and competent Iranian fashion designers and partnership with online an offline platforms.
